The Rancho Las Virgenes Composting Facility rehab project has made significant progress. The resumption of compost production is set to begin this week, but customers are reminded it takes up to 90 days to produce finished material that is ready for distribution. |

- Work has commenced on preventive maintenance and rehabilitation of the sewer line bridges that span Las Virgenes Creek. Work includes painting, security upgrades and removal of non-native vegetation. Work is expected to conclude in autumn 2012.
- Influent valves and pipes at the Tapia Water Reclamation Facility are undergoing a $700,000 upgrade. The project is replacing 20 and 24-inch sewer lines and control valves that have been in place since the facility was constructed. During construction, there is no impact to the public and the facility remains fully operational.
- The Rancho Las Virgenes Composting Facility is undergoing major maintenance and is expected to reopen in autumn 2012. An important milestone was reached during the week concluding June 8 as work in the Composting building was completed.
