Virtual Landscape Classes 

LVMWD customers are invited to attend Green Garden Group’s (G3) online classes. Registration is FREE for LVMWD customers! Weekly topics include garden design, turf removal, rainwater capture, and irrigation basics.

In-Person Workshops

LVMWD’s workshop series is offered twice per year, in the spring and fall, and pulls in industry experts as instructors. The workshops featured aim to provide property owners with the knowledge and resources required to take on a variety of projects including landscape transformation and  maintain a sustainable, California-friendly garden.

Native Plant Garden Maintenance – Fall and Winter Techniques

Instructor: Antonio Sanchez

Join us for a combination PowerPoint/ hands-on workshop where attendees will learn about:

  • Transitioning from 'Dry-Season' watering techniques to 'Wet-Season' watering techniques
  • Methods for keeping your plants flexible and flowering during the wet season
  • Which plants to prune, shape and maintain during this transitional period
  • How to install and irrigate plants during this transitional period
  • Pests to look out for and tips on fertilizing your low-water garden

The class will be led by Antonio Sanchez, Nursery Manager for Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area Native Plant Nursery in Newbury Park. Antonio has over 15 years of experience growing, installing, and maintaining native plant gardens, and has led workshops covering the same topics across the state.

This class is free. Advanced registration is required.
