Every year, local grade-school students turn their attention to the "art of water savings" as they create posters for the annual Water Awareness Poster Contest. With creative, conservation-themed artwork, students compete for a place as one of Las Virgenes Municipal Water District's top 12 finalists.
Students from public and private elementary schools throughout the district's service area participated in this year's annual Water Awareness Poster Contest with each school turning in ten posters. From that group of entries, 12 winners are selected. Each winner's art work is put on public display at the water district headquarters. The top finalist's school is awarded the "Ann Dorgelo Award for Outstanding Achievement in Water Awareness", a magnificent Waterford-crystal perpetual trophy to display in their office for the next school year. Below are the top 12 posters chosen by LVMWD in 2010 to be compiled into the popular desk-top calendar for 2011.
